Frequently Asked Questions

A medical penlight is a small, focused flashlight for clinical exams, checking pupil response and looking into the eyes, ears, nose, and throat. Its bright LED gives clean illumination, and the printed pupil gauge helps measure and compare pupil size during a neurological check.

It is reusable. It runs on replaceable AAA batteries, which are included, and uses a durable LED, so you can use it across many shifts rather than discarding it. The push-button switch and pocket clip make it quick to grab and keep on hand.

Yes. A pupil gauge is printed on the side of the barrel so you can quickly estimate pupil size in millimeters during an assessment. That makes it useful for EMTs, paramedics, nurses, and students performing routine neurological or eye checks.

Medical and nursing students, nurses, doctors, EMTs, and paramedics use diagnostic penlights for exams, and they are a common addition to home and workplace first aid kits. The bright, focused beam suits both clinical settings and everyday first aid.

It uses AAA batteries, included so it works out of the package. AAA cells are inexpensive and widely available, so replacing them is easy and keeps the reusable penlight ready for ongoing use.

This is a great pen light. It is the only one I have found that has batteries that can be changed out with the clip being used to turn it on. I have tried the push button on switch on the top but they keep getting accidentally turned on and running the batteries out, this style prevents that. As one other review mentioned, the plastic feels cheap but they are fairly rugged. I still have the first one I purchased over 3 years ago and no issues.

I think it’s a great little pen light for the price! It’s a bright LED, has batteries that can be changed out, unlike the disposable ones, but it’s about the same price as the cheapo’s. It also fits well in your hands

nice and visible. just the plastic feels kinda cheap, and the clip is flimsy-ish and likes to turn the light on a little too easily. it is however in my opinion the right brightness, not too bright, but not too dim.
