THIS BAG SAVED MY LIFE!
I do a lot of backcountry hunting, miles away from anyone. On a recent trip, I dropped a good 6×5 about 4 miles from camp. As I was quartering him out, my knife slipped and I lacerated my left forearm, severing my radial artery. With that type of injury and blood loss, seconds matter . . . You can pass out in as little as 90 seconds and expire in under 4 minutes.
I immediately dug in my backpack and grabbed this trauma kit. The design is great, because with one pull of the handle, all the supplies were immediately visible. I grabbed the CAT (tourniquet) and applied it first. It did its job and slowed the blood flow. Next, I applied the hemorrhage control bandage which provided the needed pressure to control the flow (enough) as I had to loosen/tighten the tourniquet over the next four hours.
The bag did it’s job. Outfitter was able to get to me on horseback and to the trailhead where they rushed me to the ER. BTW, the ER doctor complimented the products that I had used . . . Apparently had never seen an IsrEli combat bandage 😂.
Can’t say enough good things about these. After my ordeal, the guide ordered several just like it, as their first aid kits seemed woefully under supplied.

Fantastic kit. Keep in mind, this kit is larger than a “standard” IFAK pouch, but was exactly the size I was looking for… perfect for a comprehensive trauma kit for BSA Scout outings. Room enough to adjust the contents and add additional items. The LXPB-35 bag is very well built. Looks to be durable in stitching and materials. If you truly want to test the durability of your equipment, give it to a group of Boy Scouts and hold your breath… The zipper initially was a bit stiff to operate, but is “breaking in” nicely with use. I needed to use a zipper lubricant for the break in. Adjustments; 2 CAT Gen7 tourniquets in molle pouches, EMT shears and sharpie on the outside. Included contents plus SAM 36″, 2 SAM finger splints, 2″ roll of athletic tape, 2 glow sticks, 2oz hand sanitizer, 2 extra 3″ gauze, 10ml flush syringe and a 500/150 lumen LED mini tac light. All without overloading the zippers and a little room to spare. I’m always hesitant to buy online, but Lightning X Products has come through with flying colors. Great quality kit. Shipping was extremely quick. They missed a couple of items for my kit. I emailed them about the issue and they had a tracking number for the missed items within hours. Awesome customer service

Great kit for the price. Huge plus for a CAT instead of most others that have a RATS or SOFT. Only complaint is the trauma shears are kind of flimsy and the nasal airway doesn’t come with lube/prelubed. Other than that outstanding bag and quick access with lots of organization. Would love to see a detachable Velcro bag from the store.

Purchased this last year (in beginning of 2019); outstanding kit that you can add a few items to to make it even more usable for the less-traumatic, common issues you might encounter on an extended trip. I used for Boy Scouts at Philmont as well. Very useful since they had very limited supplies at some locations. For the altitude, I added a Pulse-ox meter and BP tool. Eye wash is also a good add-on. Personally, added more alcohol and iodine wipes (again for nuisance issues) as well as various band-aids. Recommend you add a hemostat as well. This company is great and has all the above items I needed to personalize this kit. I have mine arranged to have most critical items available/outside.
